Any stoked Coachella-goers out there? Well, get even more excited, because the celebrated music festival has partnered with virtual reality company vantage.tv and software platform Camera IQ this year to take the Coachella VR/AR app to augmented reality paradise.

If you were one of the lucky ones to score a Coachella ticket, open up your revamped Coachella app on your smartphone, aim it at your Welcome Box, and watch the box turn into a delightful wonderland of palm trees and flying sharks. There's even an augmented dinosaur!

And that's not all—the app allows partygoers to join an augmented reality Easter egg hunt while on the grounds to gain hidden virtual surprises.

In 2016, Coachella introduced their virtual reality app where festival-goers could use their phone and a custom Google cardboard headset to view performances through VR and receive a 360° view of the festival grounds.

If you don't have your own VR headset for this year's festival, you can purchase a cardboard one from Google to enhance your experience and receive all the benefits of the new AR features.

Coachella is scheduled for April 14–16 and April 21–23, and is held in the illusive desert of Indio, California. If you can't make it, though, don't worry—you can still download the app for iOS and Android, because it's not only reserved for ticket holders, but for all music fans out there who want to enjoy panoramic experiences of the festival and extra juicy content from this year's artists.
