If there's one augmented reality app idea that should have gone up in smoke, it's probably Tokédex, an app that brings cannabis to the world of AR.
As you might guess, the app for iPhones and iPads utilizes ARKit to visualize vape and edible products right in front of you. (Far out, man.) That way, you can see how your Brass Knuckles Canister goes with your...Big Lebowski homage to The Dude poster? Okay then.
If you see something you like, my dude, you can hit (heh) the app's shopping cart button, and the app will locate a pot provider near you. Obviously, this feature is really only useful in states where recreational dispensaries are legal, like Colorado, Washington, Nevada, Maine, and Massachusetts. Oh, and California.

Tokédex is from the developer of the Bitcoin AR app, so it's not a surprise that the app keeps a running PotCoin ticker, a cryptocurrency for the high (zing!) flyers out there. Add the play on the word Pokédex from the Pokémon lexicon, and the scent of desperation to capitalize on tech trends is stronger than the haze at a Snoop Dogg concert.
In all fairness, this app is probably pretty useful for the stoner on the go in terms of finding nearby vendors and keeping an eye on the PotCoin.
Just keep in mind, if you're in the wrong state and the authorities, for some reason, take a look at your smartphone, you may have some explaining to do.
